Selected by the BBC to provide the location for the fictional railway stations of Lightbourne and Sudbrook for the prestigious series, Wirksworth station was dressed to represent a modern station painted in a contemporary colour scheme and equipped with ‘real-time’ monitors.

ITV1 used our modern ‘Gatwick Express’ InterCity set to represent a modern express service from London to Liverpool.  Filming required a combination of internal scenes within a carriage and external shooting involving a large quantity of extras, vehicles and a helicopter.

 
 
  Seconds from Disaster

Produced by Darlow Smithson Productions, this series for the National Geographic Channel used our ‘Gatwick Express’ set to represent a German ICE inter-city set involved in the Eschede train disaster of June 1998.  A variety of internal and external scenes were filmed using extras provided by the railway.
